New Forest District Council has joined partnership with Creative England to attract more filming to the area.

Film and TV drama shooting on location can spend up to £40,000 per day in an area on local goods and services.

A locations event is being held (18 July, Appletree Court, Lyndhurst) for local property owners and managers to sign up to a locations database and find out what to expect from a film crew being on site.

Creative England’s Hayley Armstrong will lead the event, assisted by location manager, Harriet Lawrence, who has worked on high profile productions, such as Ruby Films’ Suffragette, and Jane Riddiford, who manages filming and PR at Beaulieu.

Cllr Barry Rickman, Leader of New Forest District Council, said: “We welcome this partnership with Creative England and look forward to working with them. The investment generated through our collaboration will be hugely important in supporting our local economy and the 8,000 businesses here.”

Creative England’s Production Liaison Manager for the South and East, Hayley Armstrong, said: “The New Forest has a huge amount to offer the filmmaker with its diverse range of locations and film friendly proactive District Council”.
