Currently Film:New Forest does not offer its own funding and/or training programme for filming/media projects, but there are several external sources.
BFI Film Fund
Backed by National Lottery funds the BFI Film Fund offers financial assistance to develop and support original UK filmmakers and films, and to increase the audiences who can enjoy them.
Creative England Production Fund
This fund supports a range of projects from feature films to talent development to video games. Creative England films backed by the Production Fund since 2013 have gone on to win various BIFAs and be nominated for Academy, BAFTA, and numerous other awards.
Doc Society
A non-profit company founded in 2005 committed to enabling great documentary films and connecting them to audiences globally, with a range of funds available to achieve these aims.
BAFTA
Among its other goals BAFTA is committed to supporting the next batch of new talent in the film/media industry. The charity offers scholarships, mentoring and networking opportunities to bright young talent.
Film Skills Fund
Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund invests in the skills and training of the UK film industry to secure its growth and sustainability. They offer bursaries of up to £800 for film professionals working in eligible departments to spend on training.
Creative Europe
Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme supports film, television, new media and video games, offering funding, training and networking opportunities
Independent Cinema Office
This organisation has a constantly evolving programme of training courses aimed to equip film exhibitors with everything they need to support both their venue and their own individual professional development.
Screen South
Offers new talent the opportunity to be exposed to the best current industry practise whether that be pitching workshops, script development or business advice. Also, provides advice on funding sources and assists with marketing, distribution and exhibition.
BBC
The BBC offers the opportunity for original scripts to be submitted that could go on to be developed with their backing.
Film4
Similar to the BBC, Film4 offers the ability for script writers to submit their work that could be selected and produced with their backing
Solent LEP
One of the key sectors that Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) targets for funding is Creative & Digital, so if you’re looking to begin a start-up or already have an existing business in this sector and are based along the Waterside see Solent LEP.
Enterprise M3 LEP
As stated in their Strategic Economic Plan Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has ICT & Digital Media as one of their priority sectors and additionally Computer Games and Entertainment Technologies as a niche sector targeted for support.
