Filmed in the New Forest
With such a varied, picturesque landscape many filming projects have taken advantage of the backdrops the New Forest has to offer.
Programmes and films of varying genres have been shot here from CBeebies (In the New Forest) to films such as Anna Karenina and Mission Impossible to programmes such as The Crown and Bridgerton.
Below is a selection of the productions that have been filmed in the district.

Great Expectations
Great Expectations, a new series adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens novel, for BBC and Disney FX by Steven Knight, filmed scenes at Beaulieu location Buckler's Hard.

Series one and two used Beaulieu Estate as the production base.

Motorhoming with Merton and Webster
Hythe based location Furzedown Farm was used to make a visit to The Noble Bee for a spot of beekeeping.

Future TX
This locally made movie sees Dylan and Molly buy their first mobile phones and they instantly both ring at the same time. When they answer, a Mystery Man (known as Future TX) says he's calling from the future and needs their help.
Scenes for the film were shot in and around Lyndhurst.

The Football Academy
The Football Academy is a CBBC series following the young boys, girls, and para-players at Southampton Football Academy narrated by Alan Carr.
Filming took place at the training ground Staplewood in Marchwood and around the local area for general location shots.

The Big Blow Out
The Big Blow Out sees hairdressers competing against each other in various hairstyle challenges to be a cut above the rest and be named The Big Blow Out Champion.
The production wanted to film their contributor who owns the "Jack and the Wolf" hair salon in Lymington.

Countryfile
Titled 'A Rural Welcome', the episode saw Matt Baker and Margherita Taylor discover how the New Forest community has come together to help Ukrainian refugees.

Saving Lives at Sea
The programme featured the Calshot Lifeboat station and general visuals of the local area.

The Crown, Season 3
Scenes from the smash-hit Netflix drama were filmed in and around Brockenhurst.
Furniture was changed around at the Rhinefield House hotel to make it look like the 1970s, as it was used as the site of a Scottish Balmoral venue.

Unforgotten
Series 3 of the ITV drama Unforgotten used various Lymington locations throughout the 6-part storyline.

Catastrophe
The final scenes in which Rob and Sharon sit on a beach before taking a dip in the sea was filmed at Lepe lighthouse and Lepe Estate beach (which is privately owned).
This location was used to double as a New England, USA beach.

The Infiltrator
Staring Bryan Cranston as Robert Mazur - a U.S. Customs official who uncovers a money laundering scheme involving Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Beaulieu River was used to double as Miami.

Solo: A Star Wars Story
In 2017 Disney/Lucas Film used Fawley Power Station as a backdrop for some scenes set in Corellia.
Sadly, the power station has now been decommissioned and is no longer available as a filming location.

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was one of the New Forest's first Hollywood productions to set up location in the area.
The scenes shot in the New Forest saw Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman galloping on horseback through what is now a 4.5mile walk and campsite.

The Brittas Empire
BBC comedy The Brittas Empire was shot between 1991 and 1997, using Ringwood's Leisure Centre to double as the fictional Whitbury Leisure Centre.

The Woodlanders
The 1997 film based on the Thomas Hardy novel, was filmed at Breamore House.
